Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based religious education program where children are encouraged to learn about Jesus Christ's unwavering love for them through hands-on experiences. This class is held once a week for preschool through second grade with our trained catechists.

The Atrium

CGS is held in its own dedicated sanctuary-like classroom called the Atrium where children are given spiritual and liturgical lessons. Following a lesson, they are given the opportunity to explore works themselves, delving into the materials and relating to them in their own way.

Hands-On Learning

In the Atrium, children engage with beautifully crafted materials that bring Scripture and liturgy to life. Through these hands-on experiences, children develop a deep, personal relationship with God at their own pace and in a way that is meaningful to them.

A Unique Offering

St. Mark's is the only school in the Treasure Valley offering Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, making it a distinctive and cherished part of our spiritual formation program. Our trained catechists guide children through this program with care and devotion, helping each child encounter the love of the Good Shepherd.
