Safe Environment Workshop (SEW)
To help ensure a safe and caring environment, all volunteers must complete the Diocese of Boise Safe Environment Workshop (SEW) and a background check. This requirement applies to anyone who volunteers at St. Mark's Catholic School in any capacity.
Training Requirements
Initial training is completed in person, with an annual online refresher required thereafter. The workshop covers important topics related to child safety, recognizing warning signs, and maintaining appropriate boundaries in all interactions with children.
How to Register
Registration is available at www.virtusonline.org. The VIRTUS program is the Diocese of Boise's approved safe environment training platform.
Steps to Complete
- Visit www.virtusonline.org and create an account
- Register for an in-person workshop session
- Complete the background check through the VIRTUS platform
- Attend the in-person training session
- Complete the annual online refresher each year thereafter
