Student Learning Expectations

Student Learning Expectations (SLE)

Our Student Learning Expectations (SLE) are used to identify and encourage growth in four major behavioral and social skills that are addressed at each grade level. These SLEs relate directly to the consistent efforts the school aims to develop in a positive learning environment and foster student responsibility for their own actions.

These behaviors are encouraged further in our Lion P.R.I.D.E. program:

  • P — Perseverance: Every day, every time
  • R — Respect: Others, self, and property
  • I — Integrity: Honesty in all you do
  • D — Discipleship: Following Jesus' example
  • E — Excellence: Strive for success

At St. Mark's, we believe that strong character is the foundation of academic success. Our Lion P.R.I.D.E. program weaves these expectations into every aspect of the school day, from classroom instruction to recess and extracurricular activities. Students are recognized and celebrated for demonstrating these qualities, creating a positive school culture where everyone is encouraged to do their best.
